One of my Holy Grail makeup products is the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation. The foundation is described as ‘a glowing, natural radiant finish foundation with sheer and buildable coverage’ for normal to dry skin types; it comes in 20 different shades with a lot being yellow under-toned which are best for those with a warmer skin tone.
I wouldn’t say the foundation leaves the skin glowing; it has a more of the satin matte finish, however, because the formula is light it means the natural glow of your skin still shows. Because the formula is light in weight it makes it very buildable without making the skin appear cakey. It has a light to medium coverage, perfect if you like a no-feel foundation. This foundation doesn’t have any SPF, meaning it’s great for photos with flash and perfect for nights out.
I was advised by the staff at the NARS counter to apply the foundation using my fingers, however, I found this didn’t leave the skin looking flawless it just made my dry skin stand out! I have found the best way to apply the foundation for an even application is to use the Real Techniques ‘Expert Face Brush’. As this foundation is light it’s easy to blend flawlessly into the skin.
I got this foundation from the NARS counter in Selfridges and the assistant tried to match it to my skin tone, however, I will say she wasn’t the best at doing so, as she simply slapped three shades down one side of my face and asked me which one I didn’t like! However, with the help of my mum, I found the perfect match and ended up going for GOBI which is one of the lightest shades, with a yellow undertone. I have found this is the ideal shade for my skin. It covers any red patches but my freckles still show through which I love, as my skin looks more natural.
Overall, the packaging of this product is simple and sleek, the main downside is that it doesn’t come with a pump… A pump costs an extra £3 from the NARS counter.
