First of all Happy New Year and what a better way than to kick off the year with a MAC lipstick Review!

There is nothing quite like getting a new lipstick… am I right? I am certainly a massive sucker for MAC lipsticks, the range of colours and finishes it’s like lipstick heaven, there is something for everyone, any makeup look, night or day. I own a few from staple colours like ‘Velvet Teddy’ and ‘Whirl’ which are both matte finishes, which I hate to say that I am getting a bit bored of and as someone who has dry lips, mattes aren’t always my best friend… with the New Year and all, it was time for a change.

For Christmas I got ‘Hug Me’ I decided that it was time to try something new, after covering my hand in all types of colours and finishes in at the MAC counter, I found ‘Hug Me’ Which is a lovely beige colour with a slight pink undertone, making it perfect for everyday wear, it has a gloss/lipstick finish, which means it doesn’t dry out your lips like a matte lipstick.
It’s an easy colour to wear with a lot of different makeup looks, it can also easily go from a day to night look, as it is very easy to build the colour up.

The main downside I find with MAC lipsticks is the staying power, I find that the lipstick comes off pretty quickly which is annoying for the price, however, it all depends on what you do throughout the day, if you are eating and drinking often then you will have to apply it a lot more and more often.

In terms of the packaging, it is the traditional MAC lipstick packaging black and silver, with the tight-fitting lid which makes it perfect for carrying in your handbag.
